This Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report presents the information we currently have about key, relevant issues in the county, and provides details about how we intend to assess the impact of the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) options on communities and the environment.
Buckinghamshire’s first LFRMS, will guide the approach taken to flood risk management within the County. It is a requirement to undertake an SEA of the strategy to ensure that any options considered for managing flood risk take into account the environment, social and socio-economic and health concerns and take advantage of opportunities for wider benefits at the same time.
Carrying out the SEA at the same time as we are developing the LFRMS helps us influence options at an early stage to reduce their negative impacts. It also helps us to start thinking early-on about flood risk management options that can improve the environment and society.
We are seeking opinions on this Scoping Report, and welcome any further comment or information you have as relevant to this SEA and the LFRMS. The full report is available here.
